I am a lifelong resident of Hartselle. After graduating from Morgan County High School, now Hartselle High School, I received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Calhoun Community College. I married my high school sweetheart, Dwight Tankersley and spent the next part of my life working with him in the family auto parts business, raising our two children and volunteering in the community, schools and our church. I served for 5 years as co-chairperson of the Depot days Festival, sponsored by the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce and was the first recipient of the “Ambassador of the Year” award. I served as vice-president and president of the Hartselle Junior High School PTO 1994-96, treasure for Hartselle Dixie Youth Baseball, and was a long-time Sunday School teacher, youth leader, recording secretary and choir member at Hartselle First Church of God (it’s church they have to let you sing). Most recently, I have had the honor of being on the FACES (Family and Children Experiencing Separation) Advisory board.
In 2003, we sold the family business, and in 2005, the absolute best thing happened, I became a full-time stay at home “Gramma”. Dwight and I have always enjoyed working together, and when he decided not to run for re-election, we began looking for our next big adventure. So in 2010, I rejoined the work force and fulfilled a long-time goal of becoming a Real Estate Agent. My absolute favorite thing about my “job” is helping people! Whether you are buying or selling, I love being a part of your process!
